  A Partnership between MIWLA & the Detroit Public Schools Community District

  Once again, the Michigan World Language Association & the Detroit Public Schools Community District are partnering to offer professional development from our talented community of educators. During the Summer Institute, you can learn from our Best of MIWLA presenters from around the state. In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn from our talented colleagues from the Detroit Public Schools Community District. 

  Our sessions will be presented by teachers from multiple languages. Our topics will include teaching for equity, using proficiency rubrics, student self-assessment and choice, interpersonal activities at the novice level, teaching withCI practices, and more!

  Join us for this fantastic professional development opportunity! FREE to MiWLA members, and $45 for non-members (which includes a membership). Participants can earn up to 4 SCECHS.

  The 61th Annual Meeting of

  MICHIGAN WORLD LANGUAGE ASSOCIATION

  EXHIBIT AREA: The exhibits will be set up in Banquet Rooms 1-4 in the Lansing Center. We plan to have the exhibit hall open for attendees 

  on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM and Friday, October 24, 2025, from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM.  This should allow attendees extensive time in the exhibit area.  As always, we are sensitive to your needs for good traffic, and we have done everything reasonably in our power to prepare a schedule that will provide exhibitors with high visibility.

   

  All exhibitor registrations will be done online. The online registration process is done via a secure server. Registration closes on September 1, 2025.

  By sponsoring a Conference Attendance Grant you are supporting our grants program and helping a student teacher, new teacher, or experienced teacher that may not have the funding available to attend the annual fall conference.  You will receive a donation letter for tax purposes acknowledging your contribution and will be recognized at the awards ceremony at the conference and/or in the conference program.

  MIWLA members receive a discounted registration rate - JOIN or RENEW your membership by logging in to your account under the members tab above. To access the member rates, please log in. 

  Non-members can attend the conference as well!  Non-member registration includes a complimentary one year membership. 

  Online registration will close on October 1, 2025. Early mail-in registrations must be received by October 1, 2025, as well. After this date, you can download and print the registration form by clicking here. Bring this form with you to the conference to save you time at on-site registration. You can still pay your membership dues online.

  The 2025 Conference will be held at the Lansing Center.
